Well I did alot of testing today, power does not seem to be an issue at all and that was my biggest concern. (Powering an amp through the cigarette lighter)
Added handles today. It still is a bit heavy, but isn't a problem just bringing it in and out of work and home.
Wired in a plug for my sound bar, getting the mid-range sound in the mix really helped make it sound much better.
Next I am going to remake the box so that the amp and wires can be hidden and protected from harm. Also making it all connect at the box is important, adding a pannel that has all the female ends would be nice.
I will add more pictures tomorrow.

Car Audio Project

I made a portable Sub-woofer system to connect to my Ipod. I Drive a jeep so I have problems keeping stereos. I acquired the speaker and amp from Emperor Fabulous At first I didn't think that I would do anything with it, but after a little research I decided to try to build it.
The amp is a Profile California A400XL
I went to my local walmart and picked up the 14 gauge wire, the speaker box, extra fuses(for the testing phase), 2 boxes of crackers and a 20oz Dr. Pepper.
Radio shack had the 12v adapder that I needed.
I put on some Jurassic 5 and went to work.. the speaker box has to be assembled, and I mounted the speaker in the box.
One thing that I was worried about was the vibration from the speaker damaging the amp. Rubber grommets between the amp and the box reduce some of that vibration.
Simply a 12v adapter. This is what makes the whole thing cool.. You can plug this into any car power outlet and the system will work.
Wired in a switch to the remote wire, to turn it off and on without unplugging it.
It started flawlessly on the first try and has preformed very well in the small amount of time that I have had to test it. It sounds very good except there is some mid range loss in the process. Hard wiring another small hidden amp to the Sound-bar will help with that.
